Store Security Specialist

As a valued member of the Meijer team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of our customers, employees, and vendors. Your expertise in asset protection and investigation will be instrumental in preventing and detecting internal and external theft, including Organized Retail Crime (ORC) activity.

• Conduct regular visual inspections of the store exterior and parking lot to identify potential hazards and take corrective action.
• Perform walking inspections of the backroom and sales floor to detect and prevent theft.
• Review cashier exception reports to identify suspicious activity and take appropriate action.
• Conduct internal theft surveillance and investigate incidents to determine root causes and implement corrective measures.
• Review theft activity reports and follow up on incidents to ensure resolution and prevent future occurrences.
• Participate in the apprehension of individuals involved in external theft and assist in prosecution efforts.
• Document and report incidents thoroughly, including writing detailed reports and testifying in court proceedings as needed.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 6 months of experience in security or 1 year of work experience.
