Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop web and mobile applications that unlock the potential of Skydio's hardware across various industries, including inspection, industrial, construction, public safety, and defense.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product Managers, Engineers, and Designers, to understand customer needs and build exceptional user experiences.
  • Conduct on-site research with customers to gain a deep understanding of their needs and work with the team to develop innovative solutions.
  • Develop and maintain the Skydio Design Language, ensuring consistency across our Cloud, Mobile, and Marketing experiences.
  • Provide design guidance and support to the design team, ensuring that all designs meet the highest standards of quality and usability.
Requirements
  • Proven track record of delivering effective design solutions for consumer and enterprise customers.
  • A portfolio that showcases your experience in designing cloud products, including robotics controls, avionics, photo management, data or fleet management, geospatial analysis, 3D web tools, video review workflows, and remote hardware sensing.
  • Solid understanding of design systems that span mobile, web, and marketing.
  • Strong examples of beautiful data visualization, 3D, and table layout and visual design.
Nice-to-Haves
  • Familiarity with 3D for Web (WebGL, Cesium, ThreeJS).
  • Familiarity with Android-based HIG and Mobile Design Patterns.
  • Some front-end coding ability in HTML/CSS/JavaScript.
  • Familiarity with Front-end design libraries like Ant, Bootstrap, Tailwind CSS.
  • Familiarity with 3D Animation tools like Cinema4D, Blender, Maya, and After Effects.
