Rutland Regional Medical Center is currently seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in preparing patients for encounters, assisting clinicians in the delivery of care, and maintaining examination rooms, equipment, and supplies at an outpatient care site.

About the Role:

  • This is a full-time position with competitive compensation and opportunities for growth and professional development.
  • The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant, preferably in a physician practice or outpatient clinic setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and maintain accurate records.
  • BLS Certification through American Heart Association and current nationally accredited Medical Assistant Certification/Registration (or Vermont State LNA License) are required.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients for encounters by obtaining vital signs, taking medical histories, and performing other clinical duties under the direction of practice providers or nursing staff.
  • Assist clinicians in delivering care, including venipuncture skills (desired).
  • Maintain examination rooms, equipment, and supplies to ensure a clean and safe environment for patients.
  • Perform clerical and scheduling duties in conjunction with patient contact, such as answering phones, responding to emails, and updating patient records.

Requirements:

  • High School graduate or equivalent required; Medical Assistant program graduate preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to report patient care observations and deviations from patient plans of care under direct supervision.
  • Ability to demonstrate moderate knowledge of basic computer skills, Medical Terminology, and infection control principles.
