About the Role:

Baylor St. Lukes Medical Center, a 881-bed quaternary care academic medical center, is seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to join their team. As a Diagnostic Imaging Technologist, you will be responsible for operating MRI machines to create high-quality images for diagnostic purposes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enforce magnetic field safety for patients, operators, and visitors.
  • Monitor patients' conditions before and after scans to ensure safety and comfort.
  • Explain testing procedures to patients, ensuring they understand their involvement.
  • Position and instruct patients on preparation for MRI tests.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA guidelines.
  • Prepare equipment to ensure it is operational, safe, and functioning according to diagnostic standards.
  • Problem-solve equipment failures and imaging quality issues, contacting service representatives and CES as needed.
  • Complete quality checks and maintain equipment logs.
  • Actively participate in patient exams, performing routine, urgent, and emergent requests.
  • Assist with patient scheduling and basic clinical care.
  • Ensure patient orientation, preparation, and teaching are provided prior to, during, and after exam completion.

Requirements:

  • Associates Degree preferred.
  • Certificate from an accredited MRI program and registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - ARRT (MR).
  • OR registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - ARRT (R)(MR) and current certification by the State of Texas - MRT.
  • CPR/BLS certification.
  • Previous MRI experience preferred but not required.
