**Estimated Salary:** $62,000 - $82,000 per year, based on location and experience.

**Job Description:**

As a Nurse Resident, you will be responsible for performing basic patient care tasks, such as administering vital signs, blood glucose monitoring, and EKGs. You will also assist with patient safety initiatives, including fall prevention and restraint use. Additionally, you will perform selected sterile procedures, including specimen collection and wound care.

**Responsibilities:**

  • Perform personal patient care tasks, such as mouth care, making beds, giving baths, and perineal care.

  • Assist with patient safety issues, including the presence of identification arm bands and adherence to patient fall protocol.

  • Perform treatments, which may include urinary catheter care, enema administration, and preparation of sitz baths.

  • Conduct and document basic diagnostic testing, including obtaining vital signs, blood glucose monitoring, and EKGs.

  • Perform selected sterile procedures, including specimen collection and wound care.

  • Retrieve and transport medications, but do not administer medications or independently assess patients.

**Qualifications:**

  • Must be a new graduate or eligible to graduate from an accredited Nursing Program with eligibility to take the NCLEX exam.

  • Maximum time allowed to stay in this role is 6 months or until passing the NCLEX exam on either the 1st or 2nd attempt.
