Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Neuro ICU team at Ascension Wisconsin. As a member of our team, you will provide direct nursing care to critically ill patients with neurological conditions, working collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to patients with neurological conditions, including stroke, craniotomies, and other complex neurological disorders.
  • Implement and monitor patient care plans, working closely with our interdisciplinary team to ensure seamless care transitions.
  • Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate, utilizing advanced life support skills and critical thinking to make informed decisions.
  • Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care, ensuring timely and effective communication with the healthcare team.
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders, utilizing strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to address complex patient needs.
  • Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team, ensuring a smooth transition to post-acute care.
Requirements
  • Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 months of hire date or job transfer date required.
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 month of hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Preferred Qualifications

We prefer candidates with experience in neuro-intensive care, critical care, or a related field. A strong understanding of neurological conditions and critical care principles is essential for success in this role.
