Job Summary

This is a critical role within the MasterCard finance team, responsible for ensuring the integrity of financial statements related to the Product business unit. The successful candidate will possess strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and the ability to partner with business stakeholders to drive financial decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with business unit finance partners to advise on accounting-related matters, including revenue recognition, software capitalization, and impairment reviews.
  • Interface with external auditors to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Manage compliance activities, including MasterCard policies, Sarbanes-Oxley Act, and Internal Audit.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc management reporting, including variance analysis and technical position memos.
  • Influence change through strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Liaise with Regional Controllers on global initiatives to ensure consistency and accuracy.
  • Identify opportunities to implement automated solutions to streamline processes.
  • Partner with the finance operations team to ensure front-end and back-end controls are implemented.
  • Critical role in finance integrations of new Product acquisitions.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
  • Certified Public Accountant or Chartered Accountant required.
  • Established credibility as a trusted advisor to business partners and senior leadership.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with an emphasis on financial and business acumen.
  • Experience assessing the effectiveness and oversight of financial control implementation.
  • Demonstrated successful oversight of the management and resolution of high-risk issues.
  • Confident and poised influencer who uses analytical and leadership skills to achieve goals.
  • Experience building collaborative working relationships with stakeholders at the global, regional, local, or corporate level.
  • Proven ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
