As a Traffic Sign and Road Markings Specialist, you will be essential in maintaining the safety and visual appeal of our community's roadways.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Assess and identify locations for the installation of traffic signs and related equipment.
  • Fabricate and install signs, poles, markers, barricades, cones, and pavement markers.
  • Position traffic control signs in accordance with MUTCD standards.
  • Manage cones, barricades, message boards, and arrow boards.
  • Repair, maintain, and replace existing signs and traffic control devices.
  • Oversee inventory on the work vehicle.
  • Trim vegetation to enhance sign visibility per FDOT guidelines.
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping in the Cartegraph system for asset management post-installation.
  • Regularly respond to and address citizen requests and concerns from the task list.

We offer thorough training to prepare you for this role.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

About You

Essential Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one year of experience in construction, maintenance, or repairs.
  • Completion of IMSA sign and road markings courses Level I and II within designated timelines.
  • Successful acquisition of Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) certification within six months.
  • Valid Florida driver's license upon hire.
Physical Requirements: Must be capable of lifting and moving objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

** Subject to Passing Substance Screening: A pre-employment substance screening is required for this position. Failure in the drug test will result in a five-year disqualification period.

Additional Information

Starting Salary: $18.21 (Step 1)

Potential for higher compensation based on experience level.

The selection process may involve phone, video, and/or in-person interviews.

New hires must present the following documents on the first day:

1. I-9 Acceptable Documents for identity and work authorization verification.
  • Florida Driver's License required if the position demands it.
2. U.S. Social Security Card (signed). This is mandatory for Payroll procedures.
