Walgreens is seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team in a patient-centric role. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will be responsible for assisting pharmacists in the practice of pharmacy, interacting with customers, and developing strong patient relationships.
Key Responsibilities- Assist pharmacists in the performance of pharmacy duties, including the use of pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
- Provide excellent customer service, engaging with customers and patients, and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Develop strong relationships with customers and patients, and model and share customer service best practices with team members.
- Perform duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, and Store Manager, including the use of pharmacy systems, filling prescriptions, and verifying medicine.
- Report prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty and adhere to Company policies and procedures in relation to pharmacy errors and the Quality Improvement Program.
- Responsible for registering all related sales on assigned cash register, collecting and handling cash as required.
- Process manual claims for third-party program prescription services in a timely and efficient manner.
- Assist with exterior and interior maintenance, ensuring the Pharmacy Department is stocked with adequate supplies, clean, neat, and orderly in condition and appearance.
- Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.
- Prefer prior work experience with Walgreens.
- Prefer good math skills to fill prescriptions accurately.
- Prefer good computer skills.
- Prefer knowledge of store inventory control.
- Prefer PTCB certification.
