The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cost Management Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will support project leaders by providing construction expertise, including estimation, procurement, cost planning, and more. This role requires a strong understanding of project controls and a ability to generate high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development and maintenance of budgets and tracking project costs throughout the life of projects
  • Support change management, estimating impacts of changes and contingency drawdown
  • Review monthly cost reporting and budget reconciliation
  • Develop risk register and tracking impacts
  • Handle cashflow forecasting and monitoring
  • Review contractor/consultant invoices
  • Develop WBS and cost breakdowns
  • Support client account management
  • Communicate details effectively to internal and external stakeholders including presentations
  • Establish new and maintaining existing project controls tools

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in construction engineering, quantity surveying, or other relevant degree
  • Minimum of five years' experience in a cost engineer or project controls role on large complex construction projects
  • Background in oil and gas, energy projects, industrial process, or pharmaceutical projects is required
  • Extensive knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint)
  • Proficient using Primavera P6 software
  • Good time management, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Well-organized, diligent, proactive, assertive, well-disciplined and commercially astute
