The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Cost Management Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will support project leaders by providing construction expertise, including estimation, procurement, cost planning, and more. This role requires a strong understanding of project controls and a ability to generate high-quality results.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and maintenance of budgets and tracking project costs throughout the life of projects
- Support change management, estimating impacts of changes and contingency drawdown
- Review monthly cost reporting and budget reconciliation
- Develop risk register and tracking impacts
- Handle cashflow forecasting and monitoring
- Review contractor/consultant invoices
- Develop WBS and cost breakdowns
- Support client account management
- Communicate details effectively to internal and external stakeholders including presentations
- Establish new and maintaining existing project controls tools
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in construction engineering, quantity surveying, or other relevant degree
- Minimum of five years' experience in a cost engineer or project controls role on large complex construction projects
- Background in oil and gas, energy projects, industrial process, or pharmaceutical projects is required
- Extensive knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint)
- Proficient using Primavera P6 software
- Good time management, communication and interpersonal skills
- Well-organized, diligent, proactive, assertive, well-disciplined and commercially astute
