The Revenue Accountant collaborates closely with project managers and other essential stakeholders to ensure accurate accounting for customer deployment initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take charge of analyzing customer contracts and pinpointing elements that require accounting treatment.
  • Ensure precise revenue recognition models are maintained for designated projects.
  • Revise monthly revenue and cost forecasts in consultation with project managers.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of revenue and cost forecast modifications to assess their impact on revenue recognition.
  • Design, implement, and enhance processes and controls to guarantee compliance with GAAP and Itron's policies.
  • Educate and communicate revenue recognition requirements effectively.
  • Assist the Revenue Manager in documenting and conveying judgments related to revenue recognition.
  • Provide detailed analytical reporting on revenue and unbilled receivables management.
  • Oversee invoicing processes for assigned projects.
  • Conduct monthly reconciliations of balance sheets pertaining to revenue recognition.
  • Support both internal and external audit processes.
  • Foster positive relationships with project managers and other key stakeholders.
  • Contribute to a collaborative team environment.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in revenue recognition accounting principles, with a preference for candidates familiar with percentage of completion accounting.
  • Experience in public accounting is preferred; Big 4 experience is advantageous.
  • Proactive approach to taking on additional projects and responsibilities.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a strong emphasis on teamwork and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work independently, identifying issues early and exploring potential solutions.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to seeing tasks through to completion.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with Oracle and the Oracle Projects Module is a plus.

Education: A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance is required, with a strong preference for an emphasis in accounting. CPA certification is a plus.

Travel Requirements: Minimal travel expected.
