As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for conducting a variety of radiographic examinations, utilizing your expertise in multiple modalities to produce high-quality images for use by physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of patient conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct radiographic examinations using computer programmed and manual equipment, applying prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis.
  • Operate radiological equipment to produce clinical diagnostic x-ray images as directed by physicians and perform routine diagnostic procedures according to established standards and practices.
  • Provide exceptional patient care, ensuring the utmost attention to individual medical needs, dignity, and comfort.
  • Assume responsibility for designated areas or procedures, demonstrating leadership and guidance to radiology department associates.
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance and adhere to departmental imaging standards, performing high-quality imaging of selected anatomic areas.
  • Properly identify patients, maintain accurate records, and ensure the confidentiality of patient information.
  • Collaborate with radiologists, obtaining pertinent clinical information and explaining exams to patients.
  • Perform examination completion in RIS and PACS, ensuring all images are processed, archived, and available for interpretation.
  • Responsible for maintenance and care of departmental facilities, adhering to hospital infection control policies.
  • Perform routine duties independently, with minimal direct supervision, and refer problems to lead or director as needed.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Satisfactorily completed formal training in an accredited School of Radiologic Technology
  • 3-4 years of experience in the registry post-primary pathway certification
  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) Registry, NMTCB (Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board), or ARDMS (American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) status
  • Active Maryland state licensure
  • CPR (Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation)

Working Conditions:

This position requires working in a fast-paced diagnostic imaging environment, with frequent exposure to radiation and varying patient conditions.
