About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Dental Hygienist to join our team at High Country Community Health Inc. As a key member of our dental team, you will play a vital role in promoting oral health and well-being for our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive dental hygiene services, including prophylaxis, oral cancer screening, and radiographic studies.
  • Chart conditions of decay and disease, and perform procedures in compliance with the Dental Practice Act.
  • Prepare treatment rooms and patients for dental hygiene treatment, adhering to prescribed procedures and protocols.
  • Provide information to patients and employees, answering questions and requests.
  • Maintain instrumentation for dental hygiene treatment, sharpening, sterilizing, and selecting instruments.
  • Select materials and equipment for dental hygiene visits, evaluating patient's oral health.
  • Complete dental prophylaxis, cleaning deposits and stains from teeth and beneath gum margins.
  • Detect disease, completing oral cancer screening, feeling and visually examining gums, using probes to locate periodontal disease and to assess levels of recession, exposing and developing radiographic studies.
  • Arrest dental decay, applying fluorides and other cavity-preventing agents.
  • Maintain patient appearance and ability to masticate, fabricating temporary restorations, cleaning and polishing removable appliances, placing, carving, and finishing amalgam restorations, and removing cement from crowns and bridges.
  • Help dentists manage dental and medical emergencies, maintaining CPR certification, emergency drugs and oxygen supply, and a directory of emergency numbers.
  • Educate patients, giving oral hygiene and plaque control instructions and postoperative instructions, providing reminders of the time of the next dental hygiene visit.
  • Document dental hygiene services, recording vital signs and medical and dental histories, charting in patient records.
  • Maintain patient confidence and protect operations, keeping information confidential.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment, complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Protect patients and employees, adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
  • Ensure operation of dental equipment, completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer's instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, calling for repairs, maintaining equipment inventories, and evaluating new equipment and techniques.
  • Maintain dental supplies inventory, checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed supplies, placing and expediting orders for supplies, and verifying receipt of supplies.
  • Conserves dental resources, using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge, attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
  • Contributes to team effort, accomplishing related results as needed.
