Adjunct Faculty Position

Polk State College is seeking a qualified adjunct faculty member to join our academic community. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing college-level instruction and academic-related activities designed to support student success.
Key Responsibilities- Teach courses in accordance with college and departmental policies and procedures.
- Prepare and submit timely grade reports and other reports on student performance.
- Organize class activities and assignments, relating them to the overall learning outcomes of the course.
- Provide input and work with other faculty and staff to review, produce, and/or select course-related materials.
To be considered for this position, you must possess a Master's degree in a qualifying field or a related field, or a Master's degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in any combination of the following qualifying fields or a related field: Computer Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, Computer Programming, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Internet Services, Networking Services, MIS. Alternatively, you may possess a Master's degree plus industry certification in a programming language plus 2 years of work experience in the field.
Teaching experience is preferred. A completed online application consists of four documents: a cover letter, your resume/CV, the Polk State electronic job application (eApp) with all sections completed in full, and unofficial transcripts. Reference checks, successful completion of a Level II background check (fingerprinting), and third-party Education Verification for all stated degrees will be required prior to employment. Please upload your unofficial transcripts and redact any sensitive information. Foreign transcripts must be evaluated in terms of U.S. equivalency by a company affiliated with the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services, Inc. (NACES). Official transcripts will be required as a condition of employment following receipt of a job offer.
