Position Summary:
We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer who will be pivotal in driving our Operational Excellence initiatives. This role focuses on fostering a culture of continuous improvement by implementing lean methodologies across all manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Champion the culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence throughout the organization by promoting the standard application of Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
- Lead Kaizen events and Six Sigma projects aimed at enhancing Value Stream performance.
- Cultivate an environment conducive to Lean implementation by training staff in various Lean tools and techniques, including Value Stream Mapping, Kanban, Level Loading, Heijunka, PFEP, Supermarket, Material Handling Route Design, Waste Identification, 5S, Visual Management, JIT, SMED, and Poka Yoke.
- Create platforms for sharing and developing best practices across plants.
- Design and enhance operational processes and procedures that align with the strategic goals of the company.
- Encourage high levels of employee engagement in teams and events to promote accountability and achieve results.
- Work effectively on the manufacturing floor and be prepared to work overtime and irregular shifts as needed.
- Operate with minimal supervision.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant technical field.
- 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing setting with a focus on high-speed machining.
- Proficient knowledge and practical experience in Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Strong computer and systems skills.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities, with a capacity to engage with employees, customers, and external professionals at all levels.
