MRI Technologist Job Description

At University of Minnesota Physicians, we are seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality MRI exams for patients, working closely with clinicians and radiologists to ensure accurate diagnoses and treatment plans.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform MRI exams according to approved procedures and protocols
  • Schedule patients for MRI exams and ensure proper identification on all images
  • Accurately complete computer functions, including edits, status changes, charges, logging, film marking, and storage preparation
  • Stay up-to-date with new developments and advancements in MRI technology and procedures
  • Communicate effectively with clinicians, radiologists, technologists, and patients
Requirements:
  • AAS degree or equivalent hospital-based training program with certificate of completion
  • Registered technologist with ARRT certification as a R.T.(R)
  • Knowledge of basic nursing practices related to MRI, including emergency procedures, sterile practices, infection control techniques, and CPR
  • Experience working in an academic or clinical setting
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and critical thinking skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 3 to 6 months of experience as an MRI Technologist
  • MRI accreditation preferred
  • Broad experience as an MRI Technologist
