Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Technologist to join our team at Down East Community Hospital. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient conduct of surgical procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Pre-Operative Preparation: Gather and prepare all necessary surgical instruments and equipment, ensuring that they are in good working condition and properly sterilized.
  • Scrubbing and Instrumentation: Assist the surgical team in the scrubbing process and handle surgical instruments with precision and care.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Communicate effectively with the surgical team, including surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurses, to ensure a smooth and efficient surgical process.
  • Post-Operative Care: Assist in the cleaning and disinfection of the operating room and equipment, and ensure that all instruments and supplies are properly stored and maintained.

Requirements:

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
  • Certification: Possess a current ORT certification.
  • Experience: Current OR experience is essential.
  • Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with department personnel, hospital personnel, and medical staff.
