Role Summary

We are currently in search of a seasoned Automation Controls Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in driving our electrical machine design initiatives and overseeing the programming and debugging of machine control systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop innovative electrical and control system solutions aligned with Franklin's engineering standards.
  • Analyze client specifications, pinpoint design challenges, and ensure effective implementation of solutions within budgetary constraints.
  • Collaborate closely with our controls programming team to establish and refine standardized control platforms; engage in machine wiring and debugging as necessary.
  • Produce thorough project documentation, including machine sequences for programming teams.
  • Finalize designs to meet project specifications accurately.
  • Generate detailed Bills of Materials for projects.
  • Participate actively in design reviews with both internal teams and clients for all assigned projects.
  • Construct complex automation systems with a focus on electrical and pneumatic components, including panel layouts and wiring.
  • Integrate various automation devices with machine controls, such as Servo Drives, Robots, and vision systems.
  • Adhere to safety standards and legal requirements throughout all project phases.
  • Oversee the installation and commissioning of machines at client locations.
  • Create user documentation, including manuals, programming diagrams, and electrical schematics.
Essential Skills:
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Strong analytical and time management skills.
  • Solid mechanical understanding and expertise.
  • Familiarity with electronic systems and computer software.
  • Preferred background in automation engineering.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Allen Bradley RSLogix 5000, and SolidWorks.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of control and electrical system design as applied in automated industrial settings.
  • U.S. citizenship is required; no visa sponsorship is available for this position.
