Expert Thoracic Surgeon Wanted for Lung and Esophageal Surgery

About Trinity Health IHA Medical Group
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Board Certified or Board Eligible General Thoracic Surgeon with expertise in lung and esophageal surgery, specifically in robotic-assisted techniques. This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate in a dynamic and supportive environment with established multidisciplinary oncology care teams and a well-established lung cancer screening program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Thoracic Surgical Procedures: Perform a wide range of thoracic surgical procedures, with a focus on lung and esophageal surgery, utilizing both traditional and minimally invasive techniques.
- Robotic-Assisted Surgery: Demonstrate proficiency and precision in surgical interventions using robotic-assisted thoracic surgery.
- VATS: Conduct video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS) procedures.
- Patient Evaluation and Care: Evaluate patients with thoracic disorders, conduct thorough assessments, and develop comprehensive treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
- Collaboration: Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including pulmonologists, gastroenterologists, medical and radiation oncologists, to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care.
- Patient Education: Provide patient education regarding thoracic conditions, treatment options, and postoperative care instructions.
- Quality Improvement: Contribute to quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing surgical outcomes, patient safety, and overall healthcare delivery.
- Continuing Education: Remain well informed on the advancements in thoracic surgery and robotic technology through participation in continuing medical education activities, conferences, and training programs.
Qualifications:
- Medical Degree: Medical degree from an accredited medical school.
- Board Certification: Board certification or eligibility in Thoracic Surgery.
- Residency: Completion of an accredited residency in Thoracic Surgery.
- Expertise: Proven expertise in lung and esophageal surgery, including complex procedures and robotic-assisted techniques.
- Robotic Surgery Certification: Robotic surgery certification or significant experience with robotic-assisted thoracic surgeries.
- Licensure: Active state medical licensure and privileges to practice thoracic surgery.
- Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare colleagues.

Compensation Package:
- Estimated Annual Salary: $350,000 - $450,000 based on location and experience.
