The Lead Automation Engineer for Trading Systems plays a pivotal role in supporting our essential proprietary trading platforms. As a key member of the team, you will design and enhance automation frameworks, test strategies, and test scenarios for various trading applications utilized globally by our trading and research teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct automated evaluations of highly configurable web-based tools for executing trading operations, monitoring trades, and analyzing historical data across diverse trading systems.
  • Collaborate with developers to grasp system functionalities, establish testing priorities, and formulate comprehensive test scenarios.
  • Create and sustain a robust testing framework to automate evaluations of this and other web-based applications.
  • Oversee the testing of new software versions and partner with production support teams to ensure the seamless operation of production systems.
  • Provide backup support to fellow QA engineers for the assessment of similar web-based applications.
  • Engage with primary end-users to understand application usage and production challenges, refining test case coverage for essential functionalities while optimizing time to deployment.
  • Guide and mentor other QA testers in GUI automation techniques.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in automating testing for web-based platforms using Selenium Webdriver, WebdriverIO, or comparable tools.
  • 4+ years of scripting experience in JavaScript, ideally with NodeJS.
  • Familiarity with real-time data handling (websockets).
  • Python scripting experience is advantageous.
  • 2+ years of experience testing trading applications related to futures, equities, FX, and derivatives.
  • Proficient in Linux operating systems.
  • Experience with Docker is a plus.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Demonstrated self-motivation and a desire for continuous improvement in production support functions.
  • Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and reliability.
  • Ability to maintain composure under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to effectively plan and prioritize tasks.
