Job Summary

Camin Cargo Control Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Inspector to join our team. As a Junior Inspector, you will be responsible for performing unsupervised gauging and sampling of shore tanks and sampling of barges and ships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform unsupervised gauging and sampling of shore tanks and sampling of barges and ships.
  • Perform barge inspections under the supervision of an experienced Inspector.
  • Certify that field assignments conform to company policies and procedures as well as job specific instructions supplied by the Operations Department.
  • Act as a Company representative in the field and maintain regular contact with Operations Department in order to receive work orders and schedules.
  • Effectively communicate all aspects of assigned job duties and maintain regular contact with Operations Department, terminals and vessel to avoid delays or conflicts.
  • Obtain, label and transport samples to the laboratory in a timely manner as required by each specific job assignment.
  • Maintain assigned inspection equipment in good working order and ensure equipment is properly calibrated and stored.
  • Measure (gauge and temperature) material in shore tanks, perform all required field calculations, complete all required field documentation and submit reports to the Operations Department in a timely manner.
Requirements
  • No minimum experience necessary.
  • Requires a High School Diploma (or equivalent) with good math skills.
  • Must complete training and pass corresponding theoretical tests and field evaluations.
  • Must maintain a valid Transportation Worker's Identification Card (TWIC).
  • Must possess and maintain a vehicle in good working order, a valid driver's license, vehicle insurance and registration.
  • Must be dependable, able to work independently and be able to effectively communicate and maintain professional relationships with numerous clients.
  • Must pass company defined physical requirements.
  • Must meet and maintain site-specific requirements mandated by customers and/or terminals in order to have access to all facilities.
Working Conditions

The workday may consist of 8-12 hours; however, this can vary day to day or shift to shift. Much of the work is performed outdoors, wearing full Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and could include possible exposure to high and low temperatures for prolonged duration of time. Work may be performed during day or nighttime hours and may involve working alone.
