Job Title: SCHOOL CREATIVE ART THERAPIST- 68K-70K/Year

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Creative Arts Therapist to join our team at Little City Foundation. As a Creative Arts Therapist, you will provide high-quality therapy and instruction in the creative arts specialties to students with intellectual disabilities and/or autism spectrum disorder.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide group and individual creative art therapy to students with autism and other intellectual impairments.
  • Develop and implement daily small group instruction to ensure understanding and progress in the general education creative art curriculum.
  • Collaborate with the school team to provide recommendations and support to students and families.
  • Manage inventory of therapeutic equipment and assessments, and project needs for budget planning.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to ensure certifications and licensure remain current.
  • Develop and maintain a safe, fair, and respectful learning environment that celebrates the diversity of the student population.
  • Work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Comply with professional code of ethics and school policies.
  • Adhere to federal and state legislation, regulation, and policies that affect therapy practice.

Qualifications:

  • A Master's degree in Art Therapy, Dance/Movement Therapy, or equivalent required.
  • Current registration or board certification required (MT/MT-BC, ATR/ATR-BC, DMT/DMT-BC).
  • Current Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or ability to obtain such within 6 months of employment preferred.
  • One year experience working with students with autism spectrum disorder and/or experience working with individuals with other intellectual disabilities preferred.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

The employee is subject to sitting, walking, and standing for prolonged periods; frequently grasps, lifts, holds, or feels objects; occasionally stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls. The employee frequently is required to use manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination when working with persons served and handling office, medical, or household equipment.
