Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Tier II Network Technician to join our team at Leidos. As a key member of our Digital Modernization Sector, you will play a critical role in supporting computer data communications systems, providing design specifications, testing, and inspections for computer networks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the installation and maintenance of LAN/WAN devices, ensuring seamless network operations.
  • Respond to and resolve incident tickets in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Draft and implement standard network change requests, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Collaborate with Tier III network engineers to provide incident management and project support, including site surveys, TEMS, and equipment installation.
  • Perform configuration management functions, including updating topology drawings, ensuring asset management records are accurate, and conducting inventory.
  • Coordinate network operations, maintenance, repairs, or upgrades, with a focus on CISCO/Juniper RMA process.
  • Utilize layer 1 and layer 2 network experience, including CAT5, SM/MM Fiber, Serial cables, and SFP.
  • Configure and troubleshoot layer 2 switching, including VLANs, Port Security, and Thin Configs.
  • Familiarity with Cisco IOS, Juniper JUNOS, Brocade, and Foundry OS, as well as layer 3 protocols such as OSPF, BGP, VRRP, HSRP, MPLS, LSP, and GRE.

Requirements:

  • TS SCI with Polygraph clearance.
  • 10 years of experience, which can be a combination of work history and education, including a doctorate, master's, bachelor's, associate's, or high school diploma.
  • Compliance with DoD 8570 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2.
  • Knowledge of Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) model.
  • Working knowledge of basic routing fundamentals.
  • Ability to travel 25 percent of the time.
