- Facilitating smooth patient flow through the clinic.
- Assisting with various patient care tasks and administrative duties.
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe environment for patient care.
- Promoting patient satisfaction through professional and friendly interactions.
- Safeguarding patient confidentiality at all times.
Key Duties Include:
- Ensuring efficient patient movement within the facility by escorting patients to examination rooms and preparing them for assessments.
- Accurately obtaining vital signs in accordance with organizational standards.
- Documenting visit reasons and updating patient records, including allergies and medication history.
- Promptly notifying healthcare providers of any significant changes in patient conditions.
- Anticipating and preparing necessary equipment or supplies for patient visits.
- Cleaning and preparing examination rooms for subsequent patients.
Assisting with Clinical Procedures:
The Clinical Support Specialist aids practitioners with medical and surgical procedures, adhering to established protocols. Responsibilities may include:
- Conducting Electrocardiograms (ECGs) and venipuncture.
- Administering immunizations and preparing procedure trays.
- Collecting specimens and performing CLIA-waived testing as directed.
Quality Care Commitment:
To ensure high-quality patient care, the Clinical Support Specialist:
- Prepares and stocks examination rooms following strict disinfecting and sterilization protocols.
- Participates in safety rounds to uphold environmental standards.
- Monitors and maintains inventory of vaccines and medications.
- Assists in ordering supplies and properly disposing of expired items.
- Follows office opening and closing procedures diligently.
Team Collaboration:
As an integral member of the patient care team, the Clinical Support Specialist promotes patient satisfaction through effective communication and teamwork. Responsibilities include:
- Accepting and performing delegated tasks positively.
- Offering assistance to colleagues and participating in staff meetings.
