Under general oversight, this role is accountable for verifying and acquiring all necessary information to ensure reimbursement for services rendered in a clinical environment. Responsibilities encompass, but are not limited to: confirming accurate insurance details, validating eligibility and benefits, securing authorizations, and serving as a financial resource for all clinic-related inquiries. This position also involves assisting with the collection of co-payments and outstanding balances, as well as providing financial counseling.
Key Responsibilities
- Verify and/or gather all necessary insurance benefits information for patients.
- Secure authorizations and referrals as required.
- Assist in the collection of co-pays and outstanding balances; provide financial counseling when necessary.
- Act as an insurance resource for clinic personnel; stay informed on all insurance-related matters.
- Manage incoming calls and direct them to the appropriate departments as needed.
- Coordinate patient appointments in accordance with physician schedules and protocols.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Exhibit the ability to uphold the mission, vision, and patient commitment throughout all interactions.
- Demonstrate analytical skills; this role necessitates evaluating information and utilizing logic to manage work within scheduling constraints and address urgent requirements promptly.
- Show creativity and innovative thinking; capable of developing new ideas that align with organizational values.
- Possess proficient computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office and database applications.
- Exhibit excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities.
- A high school diploma or GED is mandatory.
- A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience is essential.
- No specific licenses or certifications are required.
