Truck Service Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Mobile Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Rush Enterprises. As a key member of our service team, you will be responsible for maintaining the fleet of vehicles for our clients and providing exceptional service at their locations.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain Fleet Equipment: Ensure all aspects of equipment are maintained according to company standards, including cleaning, maintenance, and visual inspections.
- Perform Routine Maintenance: Handle basic maintenance tasks such as filling tanks with fuel, checking oil levels, and keeping vehicles clean and well-maintained.
- Inventory Management: Manage inventory control on the service truck and ensure it is properly stocked with necessary tools and equipment.
- Communication and Reporting: Report to the Service Manager and participate in daily assignments, as well as maintain availability for after-hours service calls.
- Diagnostic and Repair: Utilize diagnostic equipment to determine malfunctions and perform repairs, including diagnosis, removal, and replacement of injectors, pistons, liners, and other engine components.
- Documentation and Quality Control: Perform all necessary diagnostic and documentation functions on the company computer system and ensure high-quality workmanship.
- Customer Service: Respond to customer inquiries, provide exceptional customer service, and foster positive relationships with clients.
- Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Experience: 5 years' experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or related truck service facility.
- Certifications: Current and valid CDL and Medical card as required by the FMVS.
- Skills: Mechanical aptitude, technical ability, and strong communication skills.
