Polysomnographic Technologist

Job Summary:

As a Polysomnographic Technologist at Penn Medicine, you will play a critical role in conducting overnight sleep testing procedures. This is a unique opportunity to work with a leading academic medical center, collaborating with top clinical, technical, and business professionals across all disciplines.

Responsibilities:

Score the polysomnogram and generate a report summarizing sleep/wake periods, REM episodes, arousal analysis, EEG phenomena, cardiac events, respiratory events, limb movements, and other physiological events according to current guidelines. Properly disinfect and sterilize equipment, electrodes, and transducers. Evaluate infant/pediatric patients and perform polysomnography for evaluation of sleep apnea and seizures. Conduct overnight Diagnostic PSG studies, MSLT, CPAP and BiPAP Titrations, ASV, MWT, Split night studies, Home Study Test education of patients, and mask fittings.

Credentials:

Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) required. High school diploma or equivalent with some post-secondary or college education in a science or health-related area. NJ Polysomnographic Technologist License. Two or more years of experience in nocturnal sleep studies preferred. Experience in a patient care job (RN, Respiratory Care Practitioner, etc.) a plus.
