Job Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Formulation Chemist to join our team at Tri-Pac, Inc. in South Bend, Indiana. As a key member of our development and manufacturing team, you will be responsible for developing and preparing personal care and skin care products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and prepare personal care and skin care products
  • Develop aerosol and liquid formulations
  • Understand customer needs and develop formulas accordingly
  • Prepare specifications for all products developed
  • Maintain laboratory notebooks and records
  • Multi-task to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Monitor batch shelf-life stability
  • Calibrate and validate laboratory equipment
  • Conduct performance and stability tests, interpret results, and report findings
  • Stay up-to-date with industry and consumer trends
  • Comply with global regulatory requirements

Requirements:

  • 2-5 years of laboratory or formulation experience
  • Aerosol and propellant knowledge required
  • Proficiency in Access, Excel, Word, and Projects
  • Attention to detail, organization, and multi-tasking skills
  • Technical knowledge of chemicals and their functionality
  • Experience with Brookfield viscometers, pH meters, pychnometers, mixers, and hotplates
  • Ability to understand processing procedures, fill weights, formula cost implications, ingredient lists, and OTC products
  • Knowledge of OTC guidelines and monographs
  • Global formulation skills
  • Strong computer skills and ability to use general office equipment
