Speech Pathology Specialist

We are seeking a Speech Pathologist to provide evaluation, treatment, and care for residents with impaired ability to swallow or communicate due to disease process. This role requires a graduate of an accredited speech therapy/pathologist program, current NYS licensure, and the ability to lift 60 pounds if necessary.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide appropriate treatment to maintain or attain the highest level of function possible within the confines of a resident's physical abilities.
  • Recommend treatment, preventative measures, adaptive equipment, and durable medical equipment to prevent decline in residents' function.
  • Provide resident and caregiver in-service education to help residents maintain or attain the highest level of function possible.
  • Evaluate and document evaluations of referred residents in accordance with facility policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of accredited speech therapy/pathologist program
  • Current NYS speech therapy/pathologist licensure
  • Ability to lift 60 pounds if necessary
  • Ability to sit, walk, bend, and twist
  • Ability to engage in repetitive motions for extended times
