Position Summary
The Injection Molding Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting manufacturing operations by implementing minor adjustments to processes. This position requires a blend of practical skills, analytical thinking, and data-driven troubleshooting to enhance production efficiency. Collaboration with process engineers is essential, as well as assisting or leading tooling trials under the guidance of engineering management.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily support for injection molding processes by adjusting or refining processing parameters.
- Conduct daily audits of machine processing parameters to ensure compliance with production condition sheets and part quality.
- Assist engineering teams with trials, including mold changes, material modifications, end-of-arm tooling (EoAT) adjustments, and packing operations, along with other assigned tasks.
- Maintain, modify, and construct new EoAT, ensuring proper inventory management of spare parts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify change points, analyze root causes, and implement effective long-term solutions.
- Keep process documentation up to date and accurate.
Qualifications
- Minimum of a high school diploma; an Associate's degree is preferred.
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal, is required.
- Working knowledge of the injection molding process and experience with ancillary equipment such as dryers, loaders, receivers, temperature control units (TCUs), vacuum generators (VGCs), and hydraulic machines (HMCs).
- Experience operating cranes is necessary.
- Ability to read measuring tapes, utilize hand tools, and operate small bench-top and standing tools.
- Capability to understand verbal and written instructions, schematics, and engineering drawings.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word, with the ability to navigate online catalogs and conduct information searches.
Working Conditions
- Flexibility in working hours is essential, including the possibility of short notice shifts, weekends, and holidays.
- Work will primarily take place in a plant environment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Capability to climb, lift, and bend as required.
