Maintenance Technician Job Description

Meridian Health Services is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our buildings and grounds.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain the general upkeep of Meridian properties, including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry repairs.
  • Repair and maintain simple electrical circuits, switches, outlets, lighting fixtures, and ballasts.
  • Repair and install basic plumbing fixtures, such as lavatories, toilets, dishwashers, tubs/showers, and water lines.
  • Inspect buildings, including roofs and common areas, regularly to identify potential issues.
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled service requests and/or repairs to ensure the safety and well-being of patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Conduct safety equipment checks for all facilities, including fire extinguishers, emergency lights, exit lights, alarm systems, and company vehicles.
  • Observe safety and security procedures and report potentially unsafe conditions.
  • Perform on-call duties in a weekly rotating schedule (24/7) for prompt response to emergent maintenance needs.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Combination of education, training, and minimum of two years general maintenance experience.
  • Knowledge of residential and/or commercial systems components, such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.
  • OSHA Certification - 10 hour required.
  • Valid driver's license, current automobile insurance, and a driving record that meets the guidelines and requirements of the organization.
