Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Electrophysiology Radiology Technologist to join our team at St. Joseph's Hospital. As a key member of our radiology department, you will provide technical support and assistance to physicians during electrophysiology procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare the electrophysiology suite and equipment for procedures, verifying patient identification, medical history, and procedure details.
  • Assist in positioning patients comfortably and securely on the procedure table, providing patient education and addressing concerns.
  • Operate fluoroscopy, ultrasound, and other imaging equipment to visualize internal structures during procedures, adjusting imaging parameters to optimize image quality while minimizing radiation exposure.
  • Assist radiologists and physicians in performing interventional procedures, scrubbing procedures, and performing post-imaging manipulation of images.
  • Monitor patient vital signs and comfort level throughout the procedure, utilizing sterile or aseptic technique to scrub in and assist physicians with procedures per protocol.
  • Insertion and removal of venous and arterial access devices, manually injecting contrast agent, and monitoring and managing cardiovascular hemodynamics.
  • Document procedure details, patient responses, and any adverse events accurately in medical records.
Requirements
  • Associate degree or certificate in Radiologic Technology.
  • Certification as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) or Radiology Technician (RTT) required.
  • Additional certification in Interventional or Cardiac Radiology (CIIP) preferred.
  • New York State Department of Health License with intravascular contrast injection 89.4 (can add injection license upon hire).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. ACLS provided upon hiring.
Work Environment and Hazards

Clinical setting. Exposure Class I.

Physical Demands

Medium work: standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling.

Pay Range

$35.58-$53.70. Pay is based on experience, skills, and education.
