Eligibility: You must be currently enrolled in an engineering program to be considered for this position.

Compensation: $22 - $29 per hour. Hourly rates are determined by role, level, and location. The hourly rate displayed on each job posting reflects the starting rate for new hires for the position. About This Role and About You

This role involves supporting the engineering team at the Riverton facility with their daily tasks. The primary focus of the intern will be on plant reliability with an emphasis on safety, process enhancements, documentation, and minor project management. Students will be engaged for 4 -12 months, with preference given to those who can accommodate longer terms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Understanding, upholding, demonstrating, and enhancing the Chemtrade safety culture.
  • Collecting plant process data and preparing material balances.
  • Providing technical information to the engineering, operations, and maintenance teams as needed.
  • Assisting in initiating plant investigations related to proposed changes in the plant process.
  • Supporting the process engineer with quarterly flow RATAs conducted in-house.
  • Gathering equipment information and aiding in SAP integration, including but not limited to vessels, pumps, valves, and motors.
  • Updating engineering documentation packages, including P&IDs, vessel drawings, plot plans, orthographic drawings, and piping isometric drawings, using AutoCAD.
  • Establishing and maintaining process safety information.
  • Assisting with maintenance and CAPEX projects.
  • Supporting ECP generation and revision.
  • Assisting with operation procedure generation and revision.
  • Contributing to JSA generation and revision.
  • Line labeling and equipment tagging.
  • Performing any other duties as assigned that are deemed to pose minimal risk.
Qualifications
  • Education: 2nd/3rd Year Chemical or Mechanical Engineering Student
  • Minimum GPA: 3.0 / 4.0
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in all areas of engineering, computer applications, and engineering software as expected from a chemical or mechanical engineering student. Strong organizational and communication skills.
