Vascular Technologist Job Description

At Brigham and Women's Hospital, we are seeking a skilled Vascular Technologist to join our team. As a Vascular Technologist, you will be responsible for performing and documenting vascular ultrasound procedures in the Vascular Diagnostic Laboratory. This includes greeting and assisting patients, preparing and maintaining examination rooms, and interacting with hospital staff to promote appropriate use of laboratory services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review patient charts and previous examinations to determine the appropriate procedure and assess the patient's ability to undergo the procedure.
  • Comply with medical history and explain the procedure to the patient.
  • Perform non-invasive peripheral vascular ultrasound procedures efficiently and accurately, following all documented protocols.


Requirements:

  • RVT or RVT eligible certification from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.
  • BS in biological sciences, BA or equivalent experience, or AS in a healthcare-related field.
  • Certified in CPR.


Working Conditions:
Normal working conditions with some exposure to infectious diseases. Emotional and physical health sufficient to meet the demands of the position. Strength sufficient to lift patients, move heavy equipment, and move patients in wheelchairs or stretchers.
