Riverwards Produce is a group of produce-focused markets in Philadelphia, and we're seeking a skilled Grocery Associate to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a well-stocked, meticulously merchandised, and organized sales floor. This includes receiving and processing incoming grocery deliveries, organizing backstock, maintaining storage spaces, and performing regularly scheduled cleanings.

The Grocery Associate will also assist with specialized projects pertaining to merchandising or maintaining inventory in the grocery department. They will have an expert knowledge of store vendors and be able to help customers and staff with inquiries and suggestions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent customer service and have a working knowledge of all grocery products
  • Use effective and proper procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product for an aesthetically pleasing sales floor
  • Receive, process, stock, and organize incoming grocery deliveries
  • Work closely with department buyers to report on inventory fluctuations
  • Organize and maintain the cleanliness of grocery storage spaces
  • Help execute merchandising displays
  • Assist cashiers and produce teams as necessary
  • Complete all shift task procedures
  • Ensure accuracy of signs and pricing

Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and spend 8+ hours standing and walking up and down stairs, this will include lifting, walking, carrying, and stooping
  • Flexibility in scheduling, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Experience receiving, processing, and/or merchandising specialty grocery in a retail setting
  • A positive attitude and an enthusiastic desire to provide storewide customer service
  • Working knowledge of local food makers

Compensation and Benefits:

Compensation begins at $16/hr. Riverwards Produce provides a 20% discount on all store products. Benefits include health, dental, and medical insurance (for full-time employees), paid parental leave, Employee Assistance Program, Paid Time Off, and flexible scheduling.
