Final Outfitting Supervisor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Final Outfitting Foreman to join our team at Master Boat Builders, Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the final stages of vessel construction, ensuring all finishing tasks are completed to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership and Supervision
- Manage and lead a team of workers, including carpenters, and other trades involved in final outfitting tasks.
- Assign tasks, monitor performance, and ensure that work is completed on time and to specification.
- Project Management
- Plan and schedule final outfitting activities to meet project deadlines.
- Coordinate with other departments (e.g., engineering, procurement, quality control) to ensure materials and equipment are available.
- Monitor and report on project progress, delays, and any issues that arise.
- Quality Control
- Inspect and verify the quality of work to ensure compliance with blueprints, design specifications, and safety regulations.
- Address defects, rework, or non-conformance issues with appropriate solutions.
- Ensure that all finishing touches, such as paintwork, fixtures, and fittings, are installed correctly.
- Health and Safety
- Enforce health and safety regulations on site to ensure a safe working environment.
- Identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Technical Expertise
- Provide technical guidance and troubleshoot any installation issues that arise during final outfitting.
- Ensure that all systems, such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and structural components, are properly tested and commissioned before handover.
- Oversee inspections and certifications required by ABS regulatory authority.
- Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and any changes or issues encountered.
- Ensure that all final documentation, such as punch lists, inspection reports, and certifications, are completed before project closeout.
- Proven experience as a Foreman in construction, shipbuilding, or a related industry, with a focus on final outfitting.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings preferred.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations and standards.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
· High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training preferred.
· 5+ years of experience in construction or a related field, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or foreman role.
· Ability to work on a vessel over navigable waters.
· Ability to stoop, crawl, bend, reach, and climb to reach various systems and components within a vessel.
