The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center is seeking a highly skilled Sorter/Processor to join our team in the operation of the sorting room or production area of a Production Store. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for processing and sorting donations, ensuring that all merchandise is accurately priced and presented to our customers.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the sorting room operation, ensuring that all merchandise is processed efficiently and effectively.
  • Cross-train in all sorting room functions under the guidance of the Sorting Room Supervisor, developing your skills and expertise in a fast-paced environment.
  • Contribute to the cleaning and general maintenance of the sorting room area, maintaining a safe and healthy working environment.
  • Maintain a clean and clutter-free work area, adhering to our high standards of quality and presentation.
  • Support the work therapy program component of The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Centers by providing beneficiaries with an example of professional conduct, work habits, and supervision.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by your immediate supervisor and/or Administrator, demonstrating your flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.
Key Performance Indicators
  • Process and sort donations by inspecting and separating saleable from unsaleable items, ensuring that all merchandise meets our quality standards.
  • Deliver a minimum of 300 store-quality garments per hour, meeting our productivity and quality targets.
  • Categorize and box seasonal clothing, bric, and shoes, ensuring that all merchandise is accurately priced and presented to our customers.
  • Process, hang, and tag all sorted merchandise, ensuring that all garments are accurately priced and presented to our customers.
  • Deliver a minimum of 225 hung garments per hour, meeting our productivity and quality targets.
  • Ensure that all clothes are hung according to policy and on proper hangers, maintaining our high standards of quality and presentation.
  • Ensure that all tags are properly placed on garments according to Salvation Army policy, adhering to our high standards of quality and presentation.
  • Process and price all sorted merchandise, ensuring that all garments are accurately priced and presented to our customers.
  • Deliver a minimum of 225 priced garments per hour, meeting our productivity and quality targets.
  • Ensure that quality, name brand, condition, etc., are considered to determine the price of garments, adhering to our pricing policies.
  • Sort and clean all saleable miscellaneous merchandise donations daily, ensuring that all merchandise meets our quality standards.
  • Ticket all merchandise and assign an individual fair market price for each item, ensuring that all garments are accurately priced and presented to our customers.
  • Place and maintain all merchandise in the required order and manner, adhering to our high standards of quality and presentation.
  • Rag out merchandise in accordance with the Territorial ARC Rag Out Calendar, ensuring that all merchandise is accurately priced and presented to our customers.
  • Sort and clean all saleable shoes, handbags, and accessory donations daily, ensuring that all merchandise meets our quality standards.
  • Ticket all merchandise and assign an individual fair market price for each item, ensuring that all garments are accurately priced and presented to our customers.
  • Process to the store a minimum of 25 pieces/sets per hour, maintaining all merchandise in the required order and manner.
  • Rag out merchandise in accordance with the Territorial ARC Rag Out Calendar, ensuring that all merchandise is accurately priced and presented to our customers.
  • Sort and measure all saleable linen items daily as required, ensuring that all merchandise meets our quality standards.
  • Ticket all merchandise and assign an individual fair market price for each item, ensuring that all garments are accurately priced and presented to our customers.
  • Process to the store a minimum of 25 pieces/sets per hour, maintaining all merchandise in the required order and manner.
  • Rag out merchandise in accordance with the Territorial ARC Rag Out Calendar, ensuring that all merchandise is accurately priced and presented to our customers.
  • Sort and clean all saleable books, records, and toys daily as required, ensuring that all merchandise meets our quality standards.
  • Ticket all merchandise and assign an individual fair market price for each item in accordance with established policies, ensuring that all garments are accurately priced and presented to our customers.
  • Place and maintain all merchandise in the required order and manner, adhering to our high standards of quality and presentation.
  • Rag out merchandise in accordance with the Territorial Rag Out Calendar, ensuring that all merchandise is accurately priced and presented to our customers. Qualifications
    • Processing experience is preferred, but not required.
    • Have a working knowledge of clothing quality and price, ensuring that all merchandise meets our quality standards.
    • Ability to stand for long periods, maintaining a safe and healthy working environment.
    • Can lift 50 pounds, adhering to our physical demands and requirements.
