Job Title: Driver Route Lead NonCDL

Job Summary:

The Driver Route Lead NonCDL is responsible for providing shift leadership and guidance to enhance the team's service level to clients, while ensuring all customer needs are met. This role serves as an example to other Route Drivers, trains new drivers, and is considered a developmental role for succession planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage assigned routes to ensure customers' waste is picked up in a safe, timely, and accurate manner.
  • Plan daily schedules based on customers' needs by reviewing daily paperwork, such as manifests, route sheets, and previous VCRs.
  • Prepare and load trucks to service select accounts for the day, ensuring enough supplies are added.
  • Load and secure waste or material, or unload trucks at various Stericycle and select customer accounts.
  • Provide the highest level of customer service to assigned accounts daily, communicating any issues to the Transportation Manager or Dispatcher for resolution.
  • Ensure waste, supplies, and material handling equipment are secured prior to operating vehicles on public highways.
  • Operate company equipment in a safe and efficient manner to minimize the risk of injury and equipment damage.
  • Provide training, coaching, and mentoring to fellow drivers and new hires.
  • Ensure assigned paperwork is completed legibly, neatly, accurately, and completely, and returned to the Transportation Supervisor or Dispatcher for processing.
  • Communicate with Stericycle Transportation Supervisors and/or Dispatchers regarding any changes to route pickups, including address changes, customer not having waste ready for pickup, etc.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in driving commercial box trucks and route management.
  • Must be age 21 or older.
  • Stericycle welcomes non-native English speakers, as long as drivers can read and speak English sufficiently to understand highway traffic signs and signals in the English language, to respond to official inquiries, and to make entries on reports and records as required by federal regulation.
