We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Psychiatrist to join our team at the Ohio Department of Commerce. As a Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for evaluating, examining, analyzing, diagnosing, and treating patients, as well as prescribing medication and providing clinical direction to treatment team staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate, examine, analyze, diagnose, and treat patients
  • Prescribe medication and provide clinical direction to treatment team staff
  • Coordinate treatment team meetings and develop individual treatment plans for assigned patients
  • Administer and monitor psycho-pharmacological, psychotherapeutic, and other related treatments for each patient
  • Collaborate with outside psychiatrists and other clinicians to ensure coordination of care and continuity to community settings
  • Complete and maintain proper documentation of activities and treatment to ensure compliance with Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (TJC), Medicare, Medicaid, Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (OhioMHAS), and hospital policies, regulations, and directives
Requirements
  • Certificate to practice medicine per Section 4731.13 of Revised Code
  • Satisfactory completion of residency training program in psychiatry, as approved by the residency review committee of the American Medical Association, the committee on post-graduate education of the American Osteopathic Association, or the American Osteopathic Board of Neurology and Psychiatry
  • 5 or more years of medical practice limited to psychiatry per Section 5122.01(E) of Revised Code
