Regional Director of Operations

Darragh is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Regional Director of Operations to lead our team in the south. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for managing a home branch and other assigned branches, as well as their Branch Managers and operational sales support activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement strategic sales and operational sales support plans to achieve regional and corporate goals.
  • Direct staffing, scheduling, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control corporate programs.
  • Monitor P&L reports for each branch and develop effective ways to fill gaps between actual performance and company projections.
  • Achieve financial objectives by managing controllable expenses, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.
  • Help promote a company culture that encourages top performance and high morale.
  • Responsible for holding branch and branch managers accountable for inventory control, including cycle counts, inventory adjustments, and maintaining appropriate min/max levels in the inventory system.
  • Help develop, change, and implement operations policy and procedures to ensure accountability and growth for the company.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

Directly supervise the assigned home branch and Branch Managers in the region. Assist Branch Managers in interviewing, hiring, and training employees; plan, assign, and direct work; appraise performance; reward and discipline employees; address complaints and resolve problems. Expected to fill in for Branch Managers as needed for scheduled and unscheduled absences.

Travel Requirements:

Expected to spend quality time in each market of the assigned region each week. This may require overnight travel in some instances.

Core Required Skills:
  • Five to six years related managerial experience and training required; some managerial experience within the industry preferred.
  • Excellent working knowledge of order processing systems, inventory control systems, and Microsoft products Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to problem solve, lead by example, and coach a team to achieve excellent customer service with customers and vendors.
  • Strong ability to adapt to change and work cohesively with all departments to meet corporate goals.
  • Construction industry knowledge preferred but not required.
