Job Summary

NorthWest Arkansas Community College (NWACC) is seeking a highly skilled Testing Specialist to join our team. As a Testing Specialist, you will be responsible for the administration of the NWACC placement test and NWACC classroom tests. This role requires strong organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer various types of pencil/paper and computer/web-based tests for prospective and currently enrolled students.
  • Record and ensure that test data is properly transmitted to the appropriate databases on and off campus.
  • Provide accommodation testing for students with special requirements.
  • Assist with the administration of tests associated with outside proctoring services, including CLEP, DSST, Pearsonvue, and Kryterion.
  • Obtain certifications needed to administer exams.
  • Work as a liaison between the Testing Center and faculty while assisting students in the center.
  • Assist with reception desk duties, including checking in students, making appointments, and processing paperwork for community proctoring services.
  • Answer telephone and email inquiries, as well as assist walk-in students.
  • Provide administrative and clerical support as needed.
  • Work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and Saturdays.

Requirements

  • An Associate degree is required, plus one year of specialized training in business management, business education, or a related field.
  • Three years of experience in a related field is preferred.
  • Strong time management, multi-tasking, and organizational skills are essential.
  • Ability to build relationships with individuals and teams across the institution and campus.
  • Knowledge of planning, research, and analysis techniques and procedures.
  • Ability to conduct research and perform quantitative quality assurance reviews.
  • Ability to research, prepare, and present comprehensive written and oral reports.
  • Ability to organize and conduct meetings and workshops.
  • Knowledge of state and federal personnel laws, policies, and procedures.

Working Conditions

The Testing Specialist will work primarily at the Benton County Testing Center location, but may be required to cover testing at the Washington County location as needed. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
