Job Summary

Ancora Education is seeking a highly skilled and experienced CDL Lead Instructor to join our team in Rock Hill, SC. As a CDL Lead Instructor, you will be responsible for providing leadership and subject matter expertise in the CDL Program. You will work closely with the Regional/National Program Director to develop and implement curriculum, provide training to students, and ensure the program's continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Student Services
    • Meet with first-term students during the provisional period to answer questions and provide guidance.
    • Supplement instructor advisement for students receiving failing mid-term reports.
    • Provide academic advisement and counseling as needed to students.
    • Lead student retention initiatives for students experiencing barriers to success.
    • Maintain regular contact with students and respond to their questions and concerns promptly.
  • Curriculum Development and Implementation
    • Serve as a subject matter expert regarding the academic curriculum for the program area.
    • Actively participate in the curriculum development/revision process led by the Home Office Executive team.
    • Provide leadership in the implementation of new and revised curriculum.
  • Program Management
    • Schedule and convene the local Advisory Board meetings.
    • Provide input into creating the master schedule regarding course sequencing, offerings, room assignments, and instructor teaching assignments.
Requirements
  • Minimum:
    • Education requirement varies by field of instruction.
    • 3 years of experience in academic instruction in a post-secondary environment.
    • 5 years of commercial driving industry experience.
    • 5 years of experience in a management or supervisory role.
    • Excellent customer service skills.
    • Valid CDL Class A license.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 7 years of experience in academic instruction in a post-secondary environment.
  • 10 years of experience in the field of commercial driving.
  • Working knowledge of federal/state government education regulations.
  • 7 years of experience in a management or supervisory role.
  • Previous experience as an academic program director.
  • Experience in student guidance or a related field.
