POSITION OVERVIEW:

The primary responsibility of this role is to prepare meals according to specific dietary requirements, community protocols, and food safety regulations, under the supervision of the Food Service Director. Additional tasks may be assigned by community representatives. Adhere to all health, sanitation, and infection control policies while maintaining the standards set by the community's administration and Dietary Policies and Procedures.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
  • Working knowledge of food safety and sanitation principles is essential. Must comply with state-specific food handler training requirements.
  • Proficient in English, with the ability to follow both verbal and written instructions.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute verbal and written directives effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and meticulous attention to detail are required.
  • Ability to collaborate with supervisors, colleagues, and community staff in performing job duties.
  • Commitment to observing proper safety and sanitation practices.
  • Willingness to work scheduled hours as required by the position.
  • Must not pose a direct threat to the health and safety of others in the workplace.
Experience:
  • Prior experience in long-term care settings is preferred but not mandatory.
