Job Title: Senior RF Power Design Engineer

MACOM Technology Solutions Holdings, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Senior RF Power Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Power & GaN Technology Group, you will be responsible for designing and developing RF Power Transistors, Pre-Matched Amplifiers, and Hybrid Modules in GaN technology.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate in product definition to assess feasibility and define target specifications.
  • Execute schematic circuit simulations and EM simulations.
  • Design test circuits for evaluation and production testing.
  • Generate layouts and assembly drawings.
  • Characterize and model devices.
  • Maintain a fully equipped test bench.
  • Deliver fully characterized prototype samples (RF, thermal).
  • Generate design reports, progress reports, test reports, datasheets, and bill of materials.
  • Organize design reviews.
  • Collaborate with Project Manager to maintain an up-to-date project plan and schedule.
  • Work with Packaging & Assembly team to ensure compliance to manufacturing design rules and develop cost-effective solutions.
  • Collaborate with Product Engineering team for production release.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies (semiconductor, assembly, packaging, tools).
  • Provide customer support (sampling and application notes).
  • Cochain and mentor junior engineers.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or similar.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Familiarity with Microwave Power Amplifier design theory and techniques.
  • Experience with non-linear active device modeling is a plus.
  • Familiarity with electrical simulation tools such as MWO or ADS.
  • Familiarity with EM simulation tools (such as EM Pro and AXIEM).
  • Familiarity with Thermal simulation tools (such as SYMMIC or other) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD or other layout drawing tool.
  • Familiarity with RF measurement techniques for small-signal and large-signal characterization of amplifiers.
  • Hands-on board level tuning.
  • Good communication, organization, and documentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build long-lasting partnerships.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
