Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist to join our team at UF Health. As a key member of our anesthesia department, you will be responsible for administering anesthesia to patients undergoing surgical procedures, while ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform pre-anesthetic assessments and evaluations of patients, including requesting consultations and diagnostic studies as needed.
  • Develop and implement anesthetic plans of care, taking into account the patient's medical history, laboratory results, and other relevant factors.
  • Manage patients' emergence and recovery from anesthesia, providing relief from pain and anesthesia side effects, and preventing and managing complications.
  • Record all pertinent events during the induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia, including the dosage and duration of anesthetic agents and other medications.
  • Prepare equipment and agents for safe use, and report any malfunctioning equipment to the anesthesia technician or Chief Nurse Anesthetist.
  • Maintain patients' physiologic homeostasis and correct abnormal responses to anesthesia and surgery, using advanced monitoring methods as needed.
  • Evaluate life-threatening situations, such as cardiac arrest, and treat according to established protocols.
  • Administer induction drugs, maintain and adjust anesthetic depth, and deliver continuous anesthesia care and monitoring into and during the postoperative recovery phase.
Requirements
  • Masters in Nursing required.
  • PALS Certification required at time of hire.
  • ACLS Certification required at time of hire.
  • BLS Certification required at time of hire.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, making independent judgments and decisions without supervision. The successful candidate must be able to perform under stress, adapt to changing situations, and maintain confidentiality and diplomacy in all interactions.
