Key Responsibilities and QualificationsRegistered nurses are essential in delivering and coordinating patient care. Responsibilities include collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to provide both physical and emotional support to patients and their families. Daily tasks encompass:
- Conducting patient assessments and reassessments.
- Creating tailored care plans.
- Administering medications and maintaining accurate documentation.
- Educating patients and families on care processes.
- Ensuring proper maintenance of medical equipment.
- Communicating patient needs effectively.
In this role, you will:
- Administer prescribed medications, manage dressings, and monitor vital signs.
- Provide respiratory care and ventilator management.
- Act as the primary coordinator for multidisciplinary patient care.
- Utilize computerized documentation systems to record and communicate patient conditions.
- Assess and coordinate discharge planning with the healthcare team.
Qualifications:
- Current RN licensure by the KY Board of Nursing or a compact state.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- BLS certification required.
- ACLS certification must be obtained within six months of hire or transfer from a non-ICU area.
- Specialty certification is preferred.
- One to two years of clinical nursing experience preferred.
- Experience in an ICU setting is preferred.
