Position Overview:

As a Housekeeper, your primary responsibility will be to maintain cleanliness in residents' living spaces and communal areas, adhering to a defined schedule and established protocols. Additionally, you will handle all laundry tasks within our commercial laundry facilities.

Required Qualifications for Housekeeping:

  • A high school diploma and/or one to three years of relevant experience and/or training; or a suitable combination of education and experience.
  • Previous experience in housekeeping is preferred.
  • A positive attitude and a sense of humor while delivering exceptional service are essential.

Key Responsibilities for Housekeeping:

  • Clean all designated areas according to departmental standards, processes, and procedures.
  • Ensure cleanliness and sanitary conditions in assigned locations as directed, following established guidelines and proper cleaning techniques.
  • Demonstrate the ability to make independent decisions and adhere to instructions.
  • Interact tactfully with colleagues, residents, family members, visitors, and the general public.
  • Follow written and verbal instructions for mixing cleaning agents and disinfectants.
  • Communicate relevant information regarding a resident's condition.
  • Utilize supplies efficiently and report any needs for replenishment to the supervisor.
  • Operate various cleaning machines, including buffers, extraction equipment, vacuums, and all commercial laundry equipment.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Housekeeping Lead.

General Working Conditions:

This position requires prolonged periods of standing. The employee must be able to read, write, and communicate fluently in English. While fulfilling job duties, effective communication with others is necessary, along with the ability to sit, stand, walk, and use hands for various tasks. Occasionally, reaching with hands and arms is required. The role necessitates reviewing detailed documents and reading from computer screens. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move items weighing up to 25 pounds. Appropriate interaction with others is essential in this work environment, which has a moderate noise level. Some travel to different locations may be necessary.
