As a Senior Electrochemist at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, you will play a key role in the development of advanced flow battery technologies. Your responsibilities will include working with our team to prepare electrolyte formulations for vanadium flow batteries, synthesizing electrolytes for aqueous organic flow batteries, and evaluating various electrolyte performance. You will also investigate materials compatibility for various redox flow chemistries, design and assemble single cells, and design and assemble stacks with large area electrodes.
Additionally, you will work with our team to design and determine test protocols for specific flow battery technologies, program battery cycling equipment, and interface battery management systems with battery cyclers. You will also assemble battery cycler data into reports on battery performance and degradation, and work safely in our labs.
Minimum qualifications for this position include a BS/BA and 2 years of relevant experience, or a MS/MA, or a PhD. Preferred qualifications include an engineering or science degree with 3 or more years of experience, experience in battery testing and redox flow batteries, and experience in programming battery cycler equipment specifically Arbin.
This is a great opportunity to join our team and contribute to the development of innovative energy storage solutions.
