Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Credit Risk Specialist to join our team at HMM America Inc. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy working in finance and have strong analytical skills.

About the Role

  • This position plays a vital role in ensuring the financial stability of our organization.
  • You will be responsible for assessing and managing credit risk, maintaining our company's creditworthiness, and evaluating credit applications.
  • As a Credit Risk Specialist, you will work closely with internal and external clients to analyze credit data and make recommendations for improvements to our credit risk management process.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Credit Analysis: Review customer credit documents/accounts for accuracy, communicate with Sales reps per Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for credit, and timely review of all customer credit requests to run business credit reports.
  2. Risk Assessment: Complete independent analysis and risk assessments for both prospective new customers and existing relationships, making recommendations to Accounts Receivable, Accounting, and Sales Leadership regarding credit terms based on report findings.
  3. Portfolio Evaluation: Evaluate the credit risk of our commercial portfolio in performance of Quarterly, Bi-Annual, and annual reviews of all accounts based on the risk category (Low, Medium, and High Risk).
  4. Problem Account Identification: Identify developing problem accounts that show a deterioration in their overall credit Score within a timely manner to minimize losses.

Requirements

  • Education and Experience: 2+ years of credit analyst/loan review experience preferred, 2 + years of General AR experience, and experience with Credit Management & Accounting tools including Dun & Bradstreet.
  • Skills: Strong time management and attention to detail, advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, and excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
