Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Early Childhood Education Director to join our team at Healthy Kids Programs in Bristol, CT.

The successful candidate will have a passion for providing high-quality childcare and education to young children. As the leader of our Child Care Center, you will be responsible for ensuring that both staff and program adhere to state guidelines, Healthy Kids policies, and the rules set by our host school.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct engaging hands-on activities based on the Healthy Kids Curriculum, covering fitness, STEAM, academics, arts, and more.
  • Manage essential management tasks, including maintaining accurate attendance and registration records, and ensuring proper staffing levels to keep the program running smoothly.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with parents and family members through the Playground App.
  • Collaborate effectively with your direct report, ensuring they're up to speed on daily occurrences and addressing any issues that arise in a timely manner.
Requirements

To be qualified as a head teacher, a person must possess either:

  • A current center-based Child Development Associate Credential issued from the Council for Professional Recognition AND Over not less than a nine (9) month span of time: At least one thousand and eighty (1,080) hours of documented supervised experience working with children in a program that serves children under the age of 6 years.
  • Twelve (12) credits in early childhood education or child development from a regionally accredited higher education institution AND Over not less than a nine (9) month span of time: At least one thousand and eighty (1,080) hours of documented supervised experience working with children in a program that serves children under the age of 6 years.
  • A four (4) year college degree in early childhood education or child development from a regionally accredited higher education institution At least three hundred and sixty (360) hours of documented supervised experience working with unrelated children under the age of 6 years AND at least one semester of student teaching with children under the age of 6 years.

You'll also need to:

  • Get ready to ace a background check.
  • Show exceptional people skills and be able to connect with kiddos, parents, and fellow team members.
  • Be physically fit and able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Salary range: $20 - $22 per hour, depending on experience.
